Travel

All conference events will take place in the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) in the heart of the Bloomington campus.

Airports Nearby:

The closest airport is the Indianapolis International Airport (IND), approximately 1 hour’s drive to Bloomington. Conference participants may book a shuttle from the airport to the IMU using GO Express Travel.

Conference Hotel:

The Biddle Hotel is located on campus in the IMU, where the conference will take place. (There is no longer a group code.) If you have difficulty with the hotel’s website, you may instead call 812-855-1245 or email imuhotel@indiana.edu to reserve your room.

Parking:

Visitors bringing their own vehicle to campus can park in one of two gated, pay lots at the IMU. One is to the left of the circular hotel drop-off curb, and the other is across the street from the hotel. When you receive your registration packet, be sure to ask us for a parking discount voucher, which you will show when paying for parking at the front desk of the Biddle Hotel or upon exiting the parking lot.

Visiting Bloomington:

Getting around Bloomington is pretty simple. The IU Campus is connected to the Courthouse Square by Sample Gates and the popular, walkable Kirkwood Avenue. On Kirkwood you can find local eateries, historical sites, and other hidden gems. Parallel to Kirkwood is 4th Street, Bloomington’s international restaurant row.

Cyclists on the B-Line Trail in the springtime.

On campus, we recommend a visit to the Eskenazi Art Museum and the Lilly Library of rare books and manuscripts, both near the IMU. Runners and cyclists should check out the B-line, with access just one block west of the Courthouse Square. Hikers will enjoy Griffy Lake, the Pate Hollow trail at Lake Monroe, or further afield, McCormick’s Creek State Park and Brown County State Park.
